How do I add a progressive rent?

A progressive rent is a rent whose amount changes on set dates during the lease. You enter each step once, and Smovin then automatically adjusts the rent calls to the amounts and dates you entered.

Enter the steps

  1. Open the contract (when creating or editing it) and click the "Rent" step in the left-hand menu.

  2. Under "Rent type", select "Progressive rent".

  3. Under "Rents are introduced on a", choose "Monthly basis" or "Annual basis", depending on whether you enter monthly or yearly amounts.
    ⚠️ This choice cannot be changed once the contract is saved. To change it, you must re-enter a new contract.

  4. First step: in "Monthly amount", enter the starting amount. The "From" date is greyed out: it automatically uses the contract start date.

  5. Enter the "Until" date of this first step, i.e. the date on which this amount stops applying.

  6. For the next step, enter its amount and its "From" date (the date the new amount takes effect).

  7. Add as many steps as needed with the "+" button. The last step ends automatically on the contract end date: its "Until" column is greyed out and shows "End of contract".

Once the contract is saved, the rent calls automatically follow the amounts and dates you entered.
