How do I indicate that I'm granting free months to my tenant?

Following an agreement with your tenant, you can offer them one or more months of rent or charges. Over the chosen period, the amount is set to zero: the corresponding request is not generated.

In practice

In the contract, go to the Financials tab → + Add a transactionFree rent/charges periodNext. Indicate what is offered and the period, then click Save.

Step by step

  1. Open the relevant contract and click the Financials tab.

  2. In the Financial transactions section, click + Add a transaction.

  3. In the New transaction window, click Free rent/charges period, then click Next.

  4. The Discount period(s) window opens. Under Applied to, choose what is offered: All due amounts, Rent, or Provisions for charges.

  5. If needed, add a Discount description (optional, for example "Free due to works").

  6. Fill in the period using the From and To fields. The year buttons (for example Year 2026) help you navigate.

  7. To grant another free period at the same time, click Add a new discount.

  8. Click Save.

Good to know

Over the chosen period, the offered amount is set to zero and the rent or charges request is not generated. It is normal to no longer see that request: this is the expected effect of the free period.

This window applies a full free period (0 €). To grant a partial reduction (an amount or a percentage), use the Discount option in the New transaction window instead.
