How do I add a company to the address book?

You can register a contact as a company (owner, tenant, guarantor or service provider). The company form asks for specific information: here's what it's used for.

Creating the contact works the same way as for any contact — see How do I add a contact?. On the form, simply select Company under Legal form.

The company's details

  • Legal name: the company's official name, as registered with the authorities. This is the name that is legally binding.

  • Brand name (optional): the commercial name shown to clients. If filled in, it will appear in official communications and documents generated by Smovin (instead of the legal name). Most users leave it empty.

  • VAT number / company number: tick "This organisation has a VAT number…" if the company is VAT-registered, then fill in the company number.

  • Company phone and email: these details appear on the documents generated by Smovin. They are not used to send communications (see below).

The representative's details

The company must have a representative (contact person). This is the person Smovin sends communications to: emails, text messages, letters and registered mail.

Fill in their first name, last name, role, email, phone and language (FR / EN / NL) — this language determines the language of the communications sent to them.
